Dock has an important role in a Mac. It is the bar at the bottom of your Mac screen, where you can organise all favorite or frequently used programs. The program, files or folder, we put in dock can be quickly accessed with much ease.
Most of us know how to put or remove programs from Dock, however, not many are aware about resizing it. While may presume that the size of Dock is predefined by Apple and that it cannot be resized, it is all but a misconception.
In this article, we will guide you through the steps of resizing the dock.
How do you make a window full screen on a Mac? Beyond repositioning your Mac’s Dock, you can go further with full-screen mode. Even if the Dock is visible, switching an app into full-screen mode makes its window fill your display from top to bottom, and from left to right.
Resize the Dock of your Mac:
Resize the Dock From System Preferences: Click on the Apple icon at top left corner of the screen. From the drop, down menu, click on System Preferences. Click on Dock, in System Preference screen. You will now get a Dock Preference screen. In the Size option, move the slider across to make the dock size bigger or smaller. To shrink or enlarge the Dock (and its icons) without opening the Dock Preferences window, follow these steps: Make the Sizer appear by moving your cursor over the dotted line that you find on the right side of the Dock. Drag the Sizer down to make the Dock smaller, holding down. There are some Terminal Commands if all you want is to make those Dock icon magnification sizes larger–substitute the current size specs with the size you want up to a max of 512 pixels–the current default large size is 128. The example here changes the specs to 256. Defaults write com.apple.dock largesize -int 256; killall Dock.
Resizing of dock can be done in two ways, from modifications in System Preferences or from the dock itself. Let’s first discuss how to alter the size of dock from System Preferences. Buffer desktop app mac.
